This Privacy Policy explains how Dadbrain ("Dadbrain," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website at dadbrain.ai and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
- Email address: if you subscribe to daily parenting tips.
- Chat content: messages you send to the "Pal" assistant are processed to generate responses.
- Support correspondence: messages you send to us directly.
b. Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, language, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps (collected by our hosting provider for security and operations).
- Cookies and local storage: we use minimal first-party storage necessary to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To generate replies to your chat messages.
- To send the daily-tip email you subscribed to (opt-in only).
- To respond to support inquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
- To evaluate and improve the Service in an aggregated or de-identified form.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where applicable, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (e.g., email subscriptions), performance of a contract (providing the Service you request), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service), and legal obligation.
4. Sharing & processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with a limited set of service providers acting on our behalf:
- Vercel: web hosting and serverless functions.
- Supabase: database for subscribers and content management.
- Resend: transactional and marketing email delivery.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI model used to generate chat responses. Your chat messages are transmitted to Anthropic for this purpose.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights, safety, or property, or in connection with a merger, sale, or other business transfer.
5. Data retention
- Email subscribers: we retain your email until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Chat messages: retained only as needed to deliver the response and for reasonable anti-abuse / quality purposes, then deleted or de-identified.
- Server logs: retained for a limited period for security and debugging, typically 30 to 90 days.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or stored by us.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults age 18 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@dadbrain.ai and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. To exercise a right, email support@dadbrain.ai. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA/UK residents (GDPR)
You have the rights listed above and may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We are the controller of your personal information.
9. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US and other countries where our processors operate.

The Service may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
